Let's dive into some frequently asked questions to help you make the most of this exciting integration.

Are there any requirements or prerequisites to use PushOwl with Shopify's marketing automation?

Getting started with marketing automation is seamless, requiring just one prerequisite: the installation of PushOwl. However, if you're eager to utilize the engaging "Send browser push notification for specific product releases" automation template for New Product Releases, you will need to add the product.tag "push notification" to your new products. This straightforward action ensures that your audience receives targeted push notifications for your latest product launches.

Please refer to this link on how to add product.tags.

💡 The “push notification” product tag is only required for the New Product Release template and not for other custom workflows.

Is it possible to include a custom image and primary link in the notification?

Custom images and primary links are not configurable for the New Product Release template as they are auto-fetched by default. However, in other custom workflows, you have the flexibility to add your own custom image and primary link to the notifications.

Note: If you wish to direct your subscribers to a specific page on your store while using the New Product Release template, you can add a button to your notification. By inserting your custom link into the button, you can seamlessly guide your audience to the desired destination on your website.

Is it possible to add dynamic tags to the notifications?

For the New Product Release template, we do offer the option to include one dynamic tag - {{product_name}}. However, it's important to note that this tag is specific to this particular workflow and cannot be applied to other custom workflows within Shopify's marketing automation.

With the {{product_name}} dynamic tag, you can personalize push notifications for specific product releases, creating a more engaging and tailored experience for your customers.

Can I see the reporting and analytics for Shopify's marketing automation on PushOwl?

At present, PushOwl does not offer reporting and analytics for marketing automation. Instead, Shopify will provide the reporting on its dedicated marketing automation dashboard. It is important to highlight that the impressions for sending the notifications will be consumed from PushOwl.

Can I see the revenue attribution data from Shopify's marketing automation on PushOwl?

While we do not currently display revenue attribution data from our end, we have collaborated with Shopify to ensure seamless tracking of UTM parameters. As a result, Shopify will show the revenue attribution which is click-based on its marketing automation dashboard. Importantly, all data is securely preserved within our database, and we possess the capability to provide reports upon tailored requests. If you need access to the report, please feel free to contact us at support@pushowl.com, where our committed support team stands ready to promptly assist you.

What happens when I enable Abandoned Cart Recovery both in PushOwl and via Shopify’s Marketing Automation?

When you enable Abandoned Cart Recovery in both PushOwl and Shopify's Marketing Automation, customers will receive both notifications. This means they will get both push notifications from PushOwl and any additional notifications triggered by Shopify's Marketing Automation. To avoid overwhelming your customers, consider selecting a single approach that best aligns with your marketing strategy and customer preferences.

When notifications are delivered from both PushOwl and Shopify's Marketing Automation, how is revenue attribution handled?

When both PushOwl and Shopify's Marketing Automation send notifications, revenue attribution is based on the timing. The last notification received by the customer gets attributed to generating the purchase revenue, whether from PushOwl or Shopify's Marketing Automation.
