Creating a Sender

The sender is visible in your sent email, allowing your contacts to recognize you easily. This is what makes your recipients feel confident about opening your email.

You can create as many senders as you want. Creating a sender is a twofold process:

  1. selecting a name (e.g. Abby from The Green Yoga)

  2. an email address (e.g. abby@thegreenyoga.com).

There are several instances where you will be asked to create or choose a sender:

  • When you onboard to PushOwl Email (powered by Brevo), you must verify your account email address. Once it has been verified, it can be used as a sender. It cannot be deleted, but you can add new senders.

  • When you create an email campaign or template, you will be asked to choose a sender.

We highly recommend authenticating your domain before creating a sender to improve the deliverability of your emails. Verifying your domain allows you to approve new senders automatically. To learn more, check our dedicated article Authenticate your domain (Brevo code and DKIM).

Please note that we will guide you through creating and verifying a sender during our email onboarding. This documentation is only applicable if you have skipped that step.

You can verify if you have skipped the step by clicking on Email in the left navigation menu.

Create a Sender

  1. Enter the name and email you want the recipients to see as per your preference.

  2. Click on Verify Sender.

If you authenticated your domain, your sender is automatically verified. You don't need to do anything else!

If your domain hasn't been authorised yet.

  1. Check your mailbox. You would have received an email from Brevo with the subject line - [Brevo] Activate Your New Sender

  2. Copy-past the 6 digit code in the email.

Using your sender in your email campaigns

You can create as multiple senders. You can choose which one you want to use when sending your email campaigns during the From step:
