By sending an update via push notification when refunding an order, you can easily skip sending a long email. Since refunds are the kinds of information that customers want to know about immediately, using automated push notifications allows you to send the message straight to their screens.

Here’s how you can set up a refund initiated push notification:

1. Click on ‘Shopify Flow’ from the ‘Apps’ page on your Shopify dashboard

2. Click on ‘Create Workflow’

3. Select ‘Add Trigger’ and click on ‘Refund Created’

4. Select ‘Add Action’. 

5. A sidebar will appear on the right. Scroll down to find ‘Send Push Notification’.

6. Fill in the fields as mentioned below or customize it according to your needs.

  1. Customer Email: {{order.email}}
  2. Title for Push Notification: 'Refund initiated’
  3. Message for Push Notification (optional): ‘The amount will be reflected in your account in 3 to 5 days.’
  4. Primary Link: Select ‘Add Template Variable’ and click on ‘Url’ to take customers back to the store.
  5. Image (optional): (You can leave this field empty.)

7. Click ‘Save’ once you’re done.

8. Name the workflow ‘Refund Initiated Push’ and click ‘ Save’.

9. Click on the switch at the top right to enable the automation.
