PushOwl (By Brevo) × Loop Subscriptions Integration

Overview

The PushOwl (By Brevo) × Loop Subscriptions integration allows merchants to automate personalized email and SMS communication using real-time subscription events from Loop.

By syncing subscription lifecycle updates into Brevo, merchants can:

  • Improve customer engagement

  • Reduce subscription churn

  • Trigger targeted retention and lifecycle campaigns

  • Keep customers informed throughout their subscription journey

Integration Setup

Step 1: Install Loop Subscriptions

Install Loop Subscriptions from the Shopify App Store. Before proceeding, make sure you have completed Loop onboarding, and note that a Plus plan is required for the integration.

Step 2: Sign in to PushOwl

Open your PushOwl dashboard and sign in using your account credentials.

Step 3: Complete Email Onboarding

Before activating the integration, make sure email onboarding is completed in PushOwl. The integration requires an active email setup to sync customer data and trigger communication flows.

Step 4: Open Integrations

Navigate to Settings → Integrations and locate the Loop Subscriptions integration tile.

Step 5: Generate a Loop API Token

Loop uses API Token authentication (not OAuth). To generate a token:

  1. Open Loop Admin

  2. Navigate to Settings → Manage API token

  3. Click Generate Token

  4. Grant the Read & Write Webhooks (write_webhooks) permission

This scope is mandatory. Without it, PushOwl cannot register webhooks and activation will fail with: "Invalid API token / insufficient permission scope".

Copy the generated token.

Step 6: Activate the Integration in PushOwl

Inside the Loop Subscriptions integration:

  1. Click Activate

  2. Select your Shopify store

  3. Paste the Loop API token

  4. Submit

Once validated: the API token is securely stored, required webhooks are automatically registered, and Brevo contact attributes are created automatically.

What Happens After Activation

After successful activation:

  • Subscription webhook events are automatically registered

  • Customer subscription data is synced to Brevo contact attributes

  • Events become available inside Flows, Automations, and Campaigns
