This guide answers frequently asked questions about credits, helps you troubleshoot credit issues and decide when to upgrade your plan.
Understanding credits
Credits are consumed whenever you use AI features. Image generation, video creation, apparel swap, background replacement and editing tools all consume credits. Uploading, viewing and downloading assets are free.

You can view your current credit balance in Account > Credits. Your dashboard displays:

Before generating, the credit cost is displayed next to the generate button so you know exactly what each action will consume.
Common credit issues & solutions
Cannot generate more images You've reached your monthly credit limit or your subscription expired. Check your balance in Account > Credits, wait for your billing cycle to reset, or upgrade your plan.
Why am I seeing "Upgrade" when I already have a paid plan? This message appears when your monthly credits are depleted, not because your plan isn't recognized. You've used all your credits for this billing cycle. Consider purchasing additional credits or upgrading to a higher plan.
Running out of credits quickly Process multiple images in batches and choose resolution settings appropriately to stretch your credits. Plan your product launches around your credit refresh date.
Can I buy additional credits without upgrading? Yes. You can purchase additional credits at $0.50 per credit with a minimum purchase of 50 credits. These credits are added to your account immediately and expire at the end of your current billing cycle.
I have credits but can't generate anything You likely don't have enough credits for the generation type. Check Account > Credits for your current balance. Different features consume different amounts of credits:
Image generation: varies by resolution
Video generation: varies by duration and resolution
Background replacement: lower credit cost
Apparel swap: varies by resolution
When do my credits renew? Credits renew on your billing date. Check your renewal date in Account > Credits. Note that upgrading your plan resets your billing cycle to the upgrade date and gives you credits immediately.
Do unused credits roll over? No. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not carry forward to the next month. Each month begins with your full plan allocation.
Will I be charged for failed generations? No. Credits are only deducted for successful generations. Failed generations are automatically refunded to your account.
I need more credits per month For high-volume needs, consider the Growth plan (500 credits/month) or purchase additional credits as needed. For custom enterprise solutions, contact support at help@magicfit.com.

Maximizing your credits
Choose appropriate resolution Use standard resolution for social media and web use. Reserve high resolution for print materials and hero images.
Plan ahead Schedule product launches and catalog updates around your credit refresh date to ensure you have sufficient credits available.
Test with lower settings When experimenting with prompts and styles, use lower resolution settings. Once you're happy with the output, generate the final version at high resolution.
Track your usage Monitor your credit consumption in your dashboard to understand which features use the most credits and adjust your workflow accordingly.
Features still locked after plan upgrade Ensure you're logged into the correct account, clear your browser cache and refresh the page. If issues persist, contact support.

From free to essential Upgrade when you need more than 15 credits per month or want access to additional models and the widget implementation feature.

Can I get credits back for generations I'm not happy with?
Unfortunately, we cannot refund credits for individual generations. AI generation isn't as predictable as traditional photo editing. Even when using the same prompt and settings, outputs can vary slightly—especially with faces and fine details. That variability is an inherent characteristic of generative AI.
However, AI enables much more flexible content creation than traditional photoshoots. You can explore different styles, poses and compositions without booking studios or hiring models.
Similar to traditional photography where photographers take many shots and select only a few, AI generation sometimes requires a couple of iterations to achieve the best result. This is expected behavior and doesn't indicate a problem with the platform.
To minimize credit consumption while testing:
Generate 1-2 outputs initially instead of multiple variations
Once you're satisfied with the direction, generate more variations
Use lower resolution settings for testing prompts
