How to Set Up Pixel Access for PushOwl

Why This Matters

PushOwl uses Shopify app pixels to track customer actions like page views, add to cart, checkout, and purchase. These events allow us to send messages at the right time, improve message accuracy, maintain healthy abandoned cart recovery (ACR), and drive more sales for your store.

If pixel access is “Optimized", some events may not reach PushOwl. This can reduce performance and impact your results.

What Setting Should I Use?

Setting

Impact

Always on

All events reach PushOwl. Best performance.

Optimized

Some events may be blocked. Reduced accuracy.

Restricted

Many events blocked. Missing data likely.

Recommended: Always on ensures PushOwl receives all required events without interruption.

Not recommended: Optimized or restricted access may block some events and cause missing data.

How to Set Pixel Access to Always On

Follow these steps in your Shopify admin:

  1. Go to Settings in Shopify

  2. Click Customer events

  3. Open the App pixels tab

  4. Find PushOwl in the list

  5. Click the data access setting shown in the Data column

  6. Select Always on

  7. Click Apply

Your pixel access is now set correctly.
